Kate arrives successfully in Malawi!!!!

Following is an email we just received from Kate.  She flew out Thursday evening from Cedar Rapids, through Chicago, and then had an overnight layover in D.C.  From there, Addis Ababa, and then to Lilongwe.

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that Lucy and I have arrived safe and sound in Malawi. Lucy scooted right through customs and was an amazing little trooper on all of the flights. Someone from the school met me at the airport, took me to my home, handed me some startup cash, and even picked me up and took me to the market for groceries this afternoon. So I'm all set! I live next door to one of the other 5th grade teachers, Emma, who is from Canada. She is absolutely lovely and I think we're going to get along swimmingly. I plan to purchase a phone in the next couple of days and will give you all a call as soon as I do! In the meantime, please know that I've arrived safely and am enjoying settling in. I love and miss you all! xoxo
